St. Louis Harpist ~ Wedding at the Forest Park Jewel Box

The Jewel Box in Forest Park is the perfect venue for a winter wedding!  Even with cold temperatures outside, the inside is blooming and beautiful.  It’s as close as Amber & Stephen could come to having a garden wedding in December.

As guests found their seats, I played a variety of classical and popular songs.  When the bridal party was lined up and ready to enter, I played Pachelbel’s “Canon in D” for their processional.  One little ring bearer was somewhat shy about coming down the aisle, and when he got to the front, changed his mind and retreated!  With unpredictable young ones in the ceremony, having a professional musician who can adjust the processional music’s length at a moment’s notice is an absolute must!  I just kept “Canon” going until he had calmed down, and the bride was ready to make her entrance.

Amber came down the aisle to “Part of Your World” from Disney’s The Little Mermaid.  During the ceremony, there was supposed to be a moment of reflection, but the pastor skipped over it.  No problem ~ I just played the piece they had selected for this time (“Hymne” by the Greek composer Vangelis) during the postlude.  The recessional was “Fanny Power” by Turlough O’Carolan.
