Chris & Shannon took advantage of our last consecutive date for nearly a century ~ they were married on Wednesday, 12-12-12! Their ceremony and reception both took place at the Lerner Theatre in downtown Elkhart, Indiana (right across the street from the museum where I played the night before!).
With a weekday evening wedding, they decided to have their cocktail hour before the ceremony to allow everyone to get there in plenty of time after work. I played for this time in the lobby, and the music requested was traditional Irish songs to honor the bride’s family heritage.
With their Hollywood Glam theme, I also included a couple of famous songs from the movies. One of those was “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz, which I found out later is the bride’s favorite movie!
Their ceremony followed in one of the ballrooms, and the reception was in the two adjoining ballrooms. Tables were named for actors and actresses of Hollywood’s golden era, and the room was decorated with tall floral arrangements of white roses. Guests were able to enjoy a candy buffet to finish the evening.
