Maria and Lucas were married in January in Montana, but celebrated with friends and family back home in Rockford, Illinois, with a reception on the first day of February. I provided harp music for the evening at Anderson Japanese Gardens.
You might only think about the gardens for summer events, but their new Visitor’s Center is a beautiful place for a wedding all year round! Guests could enjoy the beautiful fresh snow in the gardens through the large windows, all while staying warm inside, listening to harp music!
Laura from Accent on Events was the coordinator, with flowers from Stems Floral and More. Tables were decorated with peach roses and white hydrangeas. A bit of light blue in the table sashes gave just enough sparkle for a winter wedding!
With the wedding ceremony already having taken place, they were able to display pictures from the day so guests were able to see the beautiful and rustic lodge where the ceremony in Montana was held.
They requested classical music and popular songs from the 1970’s and 80’s. It was a wonderfully eclectic mix, with selections ranging from “Grow Old Along with Me” by John Lennon to “Meditation” from Massenet’s opera Thais.
When you are planning a cocktail-style reception, the harp is the perfect instrument to provide background music while your guests eat and mingle. There was no dancing, so a harpist was exactly the right touch to complete a beautiful event!
In Rockford, throughout Northern Illinois, and in Southern Wisconsin, I am a professional harpist, providing elegant music for wedding ceremonies, receptions, and rehearsal dinners. To find out more about having a harpist at your wedding, visit: Rockford Wedding Music.
