Michigan City Wedding Harpist ~ International Friendship Gardens Ceremony

Michigan City Wedding Harpist

Yes, you can get married on any day of the week – not just Saturday, and not just the weekend.  So far, I’ve played for a wedding every day except on a Tuesday!  Tina & John planned their ceremony for this past Wednesday at the International Friendship Gardens in Michigan City, Indiana.

Although it was a little cool and rainy, the covering at the symphony garden allowed me to set up and keep the harp dry.  As you can see, I got there really early!  By the time the wedding actually started, the sun was out!

The wedding party consisted of the maid of honor, best man, a flower girl, and a ring bearer who was all decked out in a Marine’s uniform.  He was especially thrilled with the “sword” included!  Not only that, but he accompanied the flower girl down the aisle like a perfect gentleman as I played “Canon in D.”

Tina’s entrance music was “All I Ask of You” from the Broadway musical Phantom of the Opera.  As the couple invited their mothers forward to receive a rose, I played the Irish folksong “Down by the Salley Gardens.”  The recessional was “Trumpet Tune,” followed by other upbeat classical selections as guests exited the ceremony and were taken out of the garden via golf cart.
