I spent Mother’s Day this year playing for a special tea for the wonderful and appreciative ladies at Springhill Village assisted living in Terre Haute, Indiana. It was a great celebration, with tea, pastries, and live harp music!
Music included both classical and popular songs, some of which were:
- In My Life by The Beatles
- Sunrise, Sunset from Fiddler on the Roof
- Lara’s Theme from Dr. Zhivago
- Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany’s
- My Way by Frank Sinatra (which became somewhat of a sing-along!)
One of the most surprising things that happened was seeing the mother of the groom from a wedding I played for in April of 2005. That wedding had been all the way in Sugarcreek, Ohio, and now here she was in Terre Haute! It was great to catch up with her and find out what her son & his bride (and their new son) had been up to since their wedding.
As a professional harpist, I love providing entertainment at assisted living facilities in Indiana and Illinois. I am also available for weddings, concerts, and private parties! Please visit my website (Terre Haute Harpist) for more information!
