On my way to Christine and David’s wedding in Argos, Indiana, I had encountered rain during the entire drive and setup time. It was likely that the couple’s hopes of an outdoor ceremony were going to be dashed by the bad weather. Fortunately, the couple (and the harpist) managed to stay dry when they came up with the idea of having the wedding on the front porch of the Argos Izaak Walton building.
It was a tight squeeze, but they still managed to fit all of the guests and the wedding party on the front porch. The ceremony was able to be outside, but everyone could stay dry! The wedding began with me playing the Beatles song “And I Love Her” for the entrance of the families and bridal party. Christine knew from the moment she booked me as her harpist that she wanted to walk down the aisle to “Love Me Tender” by Elvis Presley.
During the ceremony, the couple and their children performed a unity sand ceremony. While everyone was pouring sand, I played “Bella’s Lullaby” from Twilight. Once the unity sand ceremony was complete, the couple exchanged vows, and were introduced to the guests. For the recessional, the song chosen was “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz.
