Springfield Wedding Ceremony Music ~ Wedding at The Rail Golf Course

Wedding Ceremony Musician Springfield IL

Lori & Derrick were married on the last Saturday in June at The Rail Golf Course in Springfield, Illinois.  The rain moving through the area all afternoon made them have to move the ceremony inside the reception tent, but there were enough breaks in the showers that they were able to at least get some outdoor pictures!

The tent was decorated in their colors of eggplant and fuchsia, and the ceremony took place on the dance floor with the head table and an arch as the backdrop.  As the parents were seated, I played the Rascal Flatts song “Bless the Broken Road.”  The bridesmaids, flower girl (who was fascinated by the harp!), and ring bearers came in to “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.”  Lori’s processional was “Canon in D” by Pachelbel, and she was escorted down the aisle by her two teenage sons.

After the exchange of rings, the couple and the bride’s three children participated in a unity sand ceremony.  The background music chosen for this was the Bach-Gounod “Ave Maria.”  With the recessional, they went with something much less traditional: “Come Sail Away” by Styx!  I continued with more contemporary harp music as the wedding party exited and cocktail hour began.
