Udaipur is simply beautiful. I was playing for a sangeet, which is a party the night before the wedding with lots of music and dancing. The venue was a palace in the middle of a lake.
Which, of course, meant getting the harp there by boat. This boat:
It wasn’t easy or pretty, and quite heart-pounding for the harpist, but it worked! The hundreds of guests also made the trip in these decorated boats.
The lawn of the palace was beautifully decorated in purple. The music for the evening was provided by professionals such as myself, along with family and friends of the bride and groom.
