Finally, a wedding in my new home city! For every event up to this point, I’ve had to fly to somewhere else in India. Although it has been amazing to see the diversity of this country, playing in so many different regions, it was quite nice to just be driven down the street (although driving here can certainly be fraught with peril!).
This wedding took place on the grounds of the Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai. I was set up on the walkway for guests to hear the music of the harp as soon as they arrived at the venue.
Some of my new local friends even got to stop by and see what it is that I actually DO for a living (I think some were convinced I was working for the CIA, flying off all the time!).
Another act that my company offers is a “living fountain.” They spend hours just on makeup for these girls!
There’s nothing quite like an Indian wedding – a party under the stars with a thousand of your closest friends!
