Harpist in Champaign-Urbana ~ Wedding Ceremony & Cocktail Hour

Evin and Sterling were married at the bride’s family home, just outside of Champaign.  They were blessed with an absolutely perfect June day for their outdoor wedding!

The prelude included “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen, a favorite of the groom.  As the families and groom entered, I played “Aria” from Handel’s opera, Rinaldo.  The flower girl and bride came down the aisle to “The Call” by Vaughan Williams.

During the Celtic handfasting, I played the “Meditation” from another opera, Thais by the French Romantic composer Massenet.  The recessional began with “Trumpet Voluntary” and concluded with “King William’s March.”

Once guests had exited the ceremony space, I moved the harp to the back patio to play for the cocktail hour.  The harp music for this time included:

Interspersed with the popular songs, they chose several classical selections, from Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” to Faure’s “Cantique de Jean Racine.”  A wonderful variety of music, all beautiful on the harp!
