Wedding at the Allen County Courthouse ~ Fort Wayne Harpist

On a rainy day, it was a blessing to be in a beautiful indoor venue!  Last weekend, I returned to the Allen County Courthouse in Fort Wayne for Linna & Josh’s wedding ceremony.  I have played here many times over the years, and it’s a stunning setting with amazing acoustics!

Harp music filled the courthouse as guests found their seats.  They opted for a variety of Irish folk songs to celebrate the bride’s family heritage.  As the harp is the national symbol of Ireland, it was a perfect fit!

The family was seated to “Canon in D,” and the wedding party processed down the grand staircase to the same piece.  The music changed to the traditional “Bridal Chorus” for Linna’s entrance.

As the couple lit the unity candle and signed the marriage license, I played “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”  The recessional was Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March.”
