Harpist in Birmingham ~ Alabama Wedding Music

Erika and William had a wedding fit for royalty at The Sterling Castle in rural Shelby, Alabama.  A short drive from either Birmingham or Montgomery, their guests were treated to a beautiful setting and an evening of music!

They had the cocktail hour prior to the ceremony, with a jazz ensemble playing on the patio.  With everyone already at the venue, the ceremony started right on time!  The rain stopped about half an hour before it was scheduled to begin, and their outdoor ceremony by the lake was able to go ahead as planned.

As guests walked over from the castle and were seated, I played “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from Disney’s The Lion King, as well as other contemporary popular love songs.  The processional began at the castle doors, with the family coming down the aisle to Bach’s “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.”  The wedding party entrance music was “A Thousand Years” from Twilight: Breaking Dawn, and Erika entered to a classical harp piece, “Processional” by Linda Wood.

During the love lock ceremony, I played the Etta James jazz standard “At Last.”  Following this, an instrumental interlude of “Amazing Grace.”  The recessional was “All My Loving” by The Beatles.  I continued the postlude music, which included “All You Need is Love,” along with other upbeat pop pieces, until all of the guests had returned to the castle for the dinner reception.
