Stefanie booked me to play for her sister’s wedding ceremony and reception, but 2020 changed all the plans! Amanda and Allison ended up getting married earlier, then had the reception in October 2021 at Gallery Divani in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan.
I set up in the entrance of the event space, where cocktail hour was held. Out in the lobby, bagpipes welcomed the guests to the celebration! For dinner, I relocated the harp to the dining room.
Their song requests included mostly contemporary popular music. Some of the pieces I played included:
- All You Need is Love by The Beatles
- Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen
- Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap
- I Could Have Danced All Night from My Fair Lady
- Over the Rainbow from The Wizard of Oz
- Thank You by Dido
They also requested quite a few Taylor Swift songs, including “Enchanted,” “Love Story,” and “Wildest Dreams.” After dinner, the guests returned to the entrance space for dancing.
