When a fellow harpist needed to head out of the country for a few months, I was delighted to be able to step in and cover some of her gigs! One of those was for an evening at the Genesis Heart Institute in Davenport, Iowa.
Attendees of the Cardiovascular Innovations and Practice Guidelines conference listened to speakers, and in between sessions, were treated to an hors d’oeuvre buffet and live harp music.
The event planner was delighted that I could play her favorite Arabic songs, even without her requesting them in advance. My repertoire encompasses thousands of pieces, and they are all at my fingertips (and in my iPad!). Yes, I am happy to play “Stump the Band” with your guests!
