I am loving the beautiful weather we’ve been having for outdoor weddings this summer! This couple had a fantastic day for their wedding, when they held both the ceremony at reception at Once Upon a Farm in Fraziers Bottom, West Virginia.
This venue features a barn for dinner and dancing, plus multiple outdoor spaces for the ceremony. They opted for the adjacent lawn, with its picturesque views over the Kanawha River. Located at the midpoint between Huntington, Charleston, and Point Pleasant, this location is easy to access from much of the western part of the state.
The prelude music for guest arrival included a variety of popular love songs. For the seating of the parents, I played “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz. The wedding party, dressed elegantly in black, processed to “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles. Haili chose the traditional Wagner processional music, “Here Comes the Bride,” for her walk down the aisle.
The DJ played for the recessional, and then I played postlude for a bit until he was able to re-set in the barn and begin cocktail hour music. I’m happy to work with your DJ or band, and make smooth transitions between the musical elements of your wedding day!
I play for weddings throughout West Virginia, as well as in Eastern Kentucky and Southeast Ohio. You can find additional information and contact me for a quote by visiting my website: West Virginia Wedding Harpist.
