The evening of April 2nd, the organization Parents as Teachers of Lake County hosted a gala dinner reception and fundraiser at the Wicker Park Social Center in Highland, Indiana. Guests were able to bid on items in a silent auction, enjoy a plated dinner, and take home bags of treats from a candy bar.
The room was decorated beautifully, with blue uplighting and twinkle lights that became even more noticeable as it the night progressed. I played for the first two hours of the event, during cocktails, the silent auction, and dinner service.
I’ve provided harp music for several wedding ceremonies and receptions at Wicker Park, but this was the first non-wedding event I’ve played for in their ballroom.
