It is always such an honor to be asked to play for funeral services. Harp music is a beautiful way to remember a loved one, and can help create a calming and soothing atmosphere for the family and friends. Today, I played for a funeral luncheon at Bistro 933, the restaurant inside the Hilton Garden Inn in South Bend, Indiana.
They requested that I play upbeat and joyful music ~ nothing melancholy! With those instructions, I created a set of music that included traditional Irish folk tunes and dances, classical pieces, songs from Broadway musicals, and a couple of Beatles hits.
Near the end of the luncheon, I played the special request “Wind Beneath My Wings.” One of the biggest perks of having most of the music I play scanned into my iPad is that I am able to take requests!
In addition to music for the luncheon or dinner, I can also provide harp music for the visitation and funeral service. Please call 574-344-9401 or email (devon@theclassicharpist.com) for availability.
