Lindsey and Randall had an absolutely gorgeous day for their wedding at SoSerene in Wapakoneta. Their ceremony overlooked the pond, and the grounds were beautiful!
I played as guests arrived and took their seats, and then paused while the pastor spoke to them about marriage. Following the sermon, the families entered to “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee.” The wedding party processional was Purcell’s “Hornpipe in G Major,” and Lindsey came down the aisle to “Canon in D.”
As the couple poured the sand for their unity ceremony, I played the hymn “Be Thou My Vision.” I continued this lightly in the background until they had been pronounced and presented as a married couple. The recessional was “Trumpet Tune” ~ a wonderfully upbeat way to conclude the ceremony!
I played through the receiving line and reception, for which they requested classical pieces or hymns. Some of these included:
- Holy, Holy, Holy
- Arioso
- Praise My Soul the King of Heaven
- Pavane Style Renaissance
- Breathe on Me, Breath of God
- The Lord’s Prayer
- Prelude in C
