One of the things I find so amazing about this job is the people I meet. I was playing for a wedding in Kolkata at the Oberoi Grand, and was returning to my hotel (the also lovely Taj Bengal).
I seem to stand out in all of my bling – and here, I’m the “exotic” one! These two young ladies approached me for a picture together.
We spoke for awhile, and they were visiting India from Iran. It’s not often that you’ll find an American and two Iranians spending time together. Music and diplomacy!
