Gina and Ryan held their October wedding ceremony at the Potawatomi Conservatory in South Bend, Indiana. Every time I play for a wedding in a greenhouse, I always rave about them!
A conservatory or greenhouse is the perfect venue for a couple who wants an outdoor wedding, but doesn’t want the added stress of weather ruining their plans – or wants to avoid the busy summer months and have their pick of top vendors (and probably some discounts, too!) on less-popular winter dates. Some other favorite venues in this category are the Frederik Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, the Jewel Box in St. Louis, and the Quad Cities Botanical Center in Rock Island.
As guests gathered, I played a variety of light classical pieces and love songs. For the seating of family members, I played “I Love How You Love Me.” The wedding party entered to the Norwegian song “Bridal March from Skjevik,” and Gina chose the traditional “Bridal Chorus” for her processional.
As the bride, groom, and her children participated in a unity sand ceremony, I played “From This Moment On” by Shania Twain. The recessional was Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up.”
