I’m loving these cooler temperatures – it’s really starting to feel like autumn at these September weddings! Tara and Matthew were married in the garden at Bobak’s Signature Events in Woodridge, with the reception following in the adjacent ballroom.
The wedding party, including the couple’s adorable 1-year-old son as ring bearer, entered to “Tale as Old as Time” from Beauty and the Beast. Tara’s processional music was “Concerning Hobbits” from Lord of the Rings.
As they poured the sand for the unity ceremony, I played “When You Wish Upon a Star” from Pinocchio, followed by “Falling Slowly” from Once for the presentation of roses to their mothers.
The recessional was “Marry Me” by Train. I continued to play in the garden for the cocktail hour. It was such a lovely evening that many guests preferred to stay outside! Music during the reception included:
- American Pie by Don McLean
- Hedwig’s Theme from Harry Potter (the bride’s special request!)
- Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol
- Glitter in the Air by Pink
- Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap
- Tiny Dancer by Elton John
- Clocks by Coldplay
Guests loved hearing songs they recognized! It’s not every day you get to hear a harp, but when I’m playing something you know, that’s even more exciting! I play for weddings throughout the Chicago area, so please get in touch via my website ~ Chicago Wedding Harpist ~ to discuss the music for your ceremony and reception!
