Decatur Harpist ~ Central Illinois Wedding Music

Megan and Brandon were married on Labor Day weekend at Central Christian Church in Decatur, Illinois.  This is a stunning, historic church, and was a beautiful setting for their ceremony.

As guests arrived, I played a variety of classical music.  When the bridesmaids came down the aisle, that was to “All My Loving” by The Beatles.  Megan’s own processional was the French song “La Vie en Rose,” which was made famous in the 1940s by Edith Piaf and is now a jazz standard.

During the lighting of the unity candle, I played “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen.  The recessional was back to classical music, and the traditional “Wedding March” by Mendelssohn.  Other joyful music followed (including “Trumpet Tune” and “Trumpet Voluntary“) as the bride and groom dismissed their guests from the sanctuary.
