Lindsay and Paul had originally hoped for a mild fall day and an outdoor ceremony, but the November weather had other plans! Their backdrop changed from a fountain to a cozy fireplace, but it was much more comfortable for everyone!
As guests arrived to the Pavilion at Orchard Ridge Farms, they were greeted by classical harp music. The families and wedding party all entered to “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” by J.S. Bach. Lindsay chose Pachelbel’s “Canon in D” for her processional.
For the lighting of the unity candle, I played the “Ave Maria” by Schubert. The recessional was a change of style ~ “All My Loving” by The Beatles!
I continued harp music through the cocktail hour, until the wedding party was announced. This was a variety of styles, from classical to pop to jazz. Once the formality of the ceremony is over, it’s the perfect way to transition to the party atmosphere of the reception.
I play for weddings throughout Rockford, Northern Illinois, and Southern Wisconsin. Visit my website {Rockford Wedding Harpist} and contact me to discuss including harp music in your own wedding plans!
