West Tennessee Harpist ~ Music for a 50th Anniversary Party

A 50th wedding anniversary is definitely something to celebrate!  I play for so many weddings, it’s especially a pleasure to be invited to provide the music for a couple who is celebrating a half-century of marriage.  Harp music is always an excellent choice!

Elbert and Judy were surrounded by friends and family for an anniversary blessing at New Bethlehem Baptist Church outside of Dyer, Tennessee.  Following the church service, their guests enjoyed dinner in the hall.

Decorated in black and iridescent blue, they really transformed the space into an elegant dining room!  There were photographs displayed of their wedding day and important events throughout their lives.

Guests made their way through the buffet, then entered the dining room.  The harp was front and center, framed by an arch topped with flowers.  I played the couple’s special requests, including “Sentimental Journey,” “Love Letters in the Sand,” “Three Coins in the Fountain,” and “Tennessee Waltz.”  My popular music repertoire spans the 1930s through the present day, so people of all ages can choose music they know and like!

As guests exited, the photographer took pictures of each group in front of the harp.  Those will certainly be special keepsakes!  One of the children in attendance told me he was learning about how instruments vibrate to make sound, so I had him place his hand on the harp’s soundboard while I played.  You can actually feel the music!

I play for weddings, parties, and other events in Memphis and throughout Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, and Arkansas.  Contact me via my website – West Tennessee Harpist – for availability and details!
