Peoria Harpist ~ Catholic Wedding Music

Megan & Kenny were married at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Peoria Heights, on a beautiful Saturday in June.  I realized the last time I played for a wedding there, I was pregnant with my daughter – who just turned four!  It was a pleasure to be back.

Megan chose hymns for the prelude as guests were being seated.  The families of the couple entered to “Let There be Peace on Earth,” and the wedding party processional was “Canon in D” by Pachelbel.

Megan chose Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” for her walk down the aisle.  During the service, the uncle of the groom was the cantor, and we did the Psalm (“The Lord is Kind and Merciful”) and the “Celtic Alleluia” together.  He has been a cantor at St. Thomas for years, but this was the first time he sang to harp accompaniment!

As the bride and groom presented flowers to Mary, I played Schubert’s “Ave Maria.”  The recessional was “Amazing Grace,” followed by more traditional hymns and Psalms as the guests exited the sanctuary.

I play for weddings in Peoria and throughout Central Illinois.  Whether you prefer traditional, sacred, popular, or jazz music, I can play anything you wish!  Contact me via my website {Peoria Wedding Harpist} for availability and a quote.
