Pittsburgh Wedding Harpist | Chartiers Country Club

After a week of rain, my whole weekend turned out beautifully!  The ground was a little soggy in places, but all three of my outdoor weddings were able to go ahead as scheduled.  On Saturday, that was for a ceremony and cocktail hour at Chartiers Country Club in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Guests stayed in the shade of the patio umbrellas as long as possible before coming out to the ceremony site on the golf course.  Even from there, they could hear the harp music!  The families were seated to “A Thousand Years” from Twilight: Breaking Dawn, and the wedding party processional was “Come Sail Away” by Styx.  Perhaps not something you’d expect to hear on the harp?

Jenna’s entrance music was a contemporary favorite, “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran.  As the bride and groom did their wine unity ceremony, I played “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You” lightly in the background.  Their recessional was “All My Loving,” which I followed up with another Beatles tune, “All You Need is Love.”

I had several guests compliment the non-traditional music that I played, especially during the cocktail hour on the patio.  Of course, all the pieces were the couple’s choice!  Time and time again, I hear from guests that they’ve never seen a harp in person, and love both the visual impact of the instrument and hearing me play songs they recognize.  The harp is very versatile, and I cover a wide range of musical styles – Bach, Bollywood, jazz, and more!
