Branson Harpist: Wedding at Dogwood Canyon

Branson Harpist

Michelle and Bobby celebrated their wedding at Dogwood Canyon Nature Park in Lampe, Missouri.  Just south of Kimberling City, and not too far from Branson, they were able to have a picturesque wedding with a waterfall in the backdrop of both the ceremony and reception locations!

The evening’s celebrations started with the ceremony at the Hope Wilderness Chapel.  Dogwood Canyon Nature park is a wonderful place for a stroll, but maybe not while wearing heels!  Guests were shuttled between the wedding sites, enjoying the scenery in comfort along the way.

I played music for guest arrival at the chapel, then switched to J.S. Bach’s “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” for the family seating.  The wedding party processional music was also traditional (“Canon in D” by Pachelbel), but Michelle chose something more contemporary for her entrance – “A Thousand Years” from Twilight: Breaking Dawn.

Their recessional was a classical harp solo, but again not something traditional.  They went with “Processional,” opting to start mid-way through the piece, at the most uptempo section, for their exit music.

The postlude followed, then I loaded up the harp and was off to the reception!  Harp music continued through the cocktail hour that was held back at the Canyon Grill Restaurant.  The bride and groom requested classical music and popular songs from the 1980s through the present.

Some of the selections included “Lucky” by Jason Mraz, “Marry Me” by Train, and “All of Me” by John Legend.

Harp music can be classical or contemporary, traditional or popular.  Your choice!  The music for each wedding I play is customized by the couple to fit their vision for the day.  I play for weddings in Branson and throughout southwest Missouri, so contact me at {Branson Wedding Harpist} to discuss your wedding plans and including harp music!
