Wedding Harpist in Iowa City {Red Barn at Pine Creek Ranch}

What a change in the weather from last weekend!  Now it is definitely getting cooler – guests for this outdoor wedding were even provided with blankets to keep warm.  It was so windy, I barely could take my hands off the harp to grab a couple of pictures!

The Red Barn at Pine Creek Events in rural Marengo, Iowa, hosted the wedding.  Right between Iowa City and Grinnell, it’s a wonderful rustic addition to the venue options in the area!

The prelude was popular love songs, including “A Thousand Years” from Twilight: Breaking Dawn, “Have I Told You Lately that I Love You,” and “Stay with Me.”  The family entered to “Aria” from Handel’s Rinaldo, and the wedding party processional was “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” by Bach.  The bride’s entrance music was another Bach piece, “Prelude in C.”

They chose “Canon in D” for the unity ceremony, then the traditional Mendelssohn “Wedding March” for the recessional.  Postlude music as guests headed back to the barn for the reception went back to popular selections – “Marry You” by Bruno Mars, “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran, and Bob Marley’s “One Love.”  Yes, I can play those on the harp!

I play for weddings in Marengo, Iowa City, the Amana Colonies, and Grinnell, and throughout Central Iowa.  Check my website – Iowa City Wedding Harpist – for more information and to contact me for a quote for your event!
