Kansas City Harpist ~ Wedding at Hotel Kansas City

Marissa and Austin held their wedding in the Tudor Room of the Hotel Kansas City.  It’s a beautiful space, full of historic charm, and right in the middle of downtown.  There is a balcony overlooking the main level, so the photographer could get some amazing shots, and the acoustics for the harp were excellent!

As guests arrived and found their seats, I played a mix of classical and popular songs, including Debussy’s “Clair de Lune,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from The Lion King, and “White Horse” by Taylor Swift.

For the family seating, they chose “Sheep May Safely Graze” by J.S. Bach, and “Aria” from Handel’s opera Rinaldo for the wedding party processional.  Marissa came down the aisle to “How Beautiful.”

During the ceremony, one of the bridesmaids played a piano medley of Pachelbel’s “Canon in D” and Taylor Swift’s “Lover.”  The ceremony concluded with the recessional “Think of Me” from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera.

Postlude music continued as guests went upstairs for the cocktail hour in the balcony, including the selections “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” by Bach, “Tiny Dancer” by Elton John, and “Love Story” by Taylor Swift.

When you have a harpist for your wedding, you can have ANY music that you’d like!  You can choose traditional classical pieces, popular love songs, folk music from around the world, jazz standards, Broadway hits, or whatever would make the music meaningful for you!
