Harp music makes an excellent wedding gift! For this wedding, the grandmother of the bride booked me to provide the music for her granddaughter’s reception. It took place in the church hall immediately following the ceremony at Calvary Baptist Church in Memphis.
The music they requested included love songs from several decades and Disney movies, as well as some pieces you may not expect to hear on the harp – like music from video games!
Their custom playlist included “Fields of Gold” by Sting, “So This is Love” from Cinderella, the jazz standard “La Vie en Rose,” “Married Life” from Up, “Far Horizon” from Skyrim, and “Love Story” by Taylor Swift.
I played as guests enjoyed dinner, a cupcake bar, and catching up with friends and relatives. Harp music is lovely as a backdrop, when you don’t want the music to overwhelm conversation!
