Eleanor and Michael chose to celebrate their wedding in their own beautiful backyard in the Michiana Shores area of Michigan City, Indiana. Their ceremony and cocktail hour were outdoors in the garden, and they had their screened patio set up for dinner.
I played as guests arrived and enjoyed pre-ceremony cocktails. The couple requested Renaissance and Classical music, Irish folk songs, and video game themes to be played in the background. The wedding party was just the ring bearer and flower girls, followed by the bride. They all entered to Debussy’s “First Arabesque.”
As the ceremony concluded, the recessional was another Debussy piece – this time, his “Second Arabesque”! Cocktails continued, and the special requests for this time included “Road to Lisdoonvarna,” “Hawaiian Wedding Song,” Nino Rota’s Godfather Theme, and “Moonlight in Vermont.”
They were going for a classy, garden party vibe, and the harp was the perfect way to accomplish that! Music of the harp can be ethereal or jazzy, to match the mood you’d like to create. And it can change as the event progresses!
