West Lafayette Wedding Music ~ Ross Camp Ceremony & Reception

I often have couples that opt to have a harpist for their weddings because a friend or family member did so, and they loved the sound and visual ambiance it created. In this case, it was the groom’s parents who had a harpist at their wedding, and they wanted to celebrate that memory!

Brandon and Aalyiah were married in the A-frame building at Ross Camp in rural West Lafayette, Indiana. I’ve played for weddings both outdoors and in the chapel at that venue, but this was my first time inside that building! The ceremony took place upstairs with the dinner following below.

I played as guests arrived and took their seats, and then transitioned to “Prelude in C” for family seating. The groom and his mother had their own processional music – “Across the Stars” from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

The rest of the wedding party entered to the “Bridal March from Skjevik,” followed by the bride to “A Thousand Years” from Twilight: Breaking Dawn. During the handfasting ritual, I played the Irish folk song “Down by the Salley Gardens” lightly in the background.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, “On Top of the World” was the recessional. I continued to play until the guests had made their way to the hall downstairs for dinner, and then took the harp down to continue the music for the cocktail hour and meal service.

Harp music is elegant background music that still allows for people to converse. It’s an excellent way to continue the romantic feel of the ceremony into the reception, and allows for you to hear more of your favorite songs! I play for weddings in the Lafayette area and throughout Central Indiana. Visit my website ~ Lafayette Harpist ~ to inquire for rates and availability!
