Jama and Brittany were married just before sunset just outside Marquette at the Little Presque Isle State Park. They love the north woods, and wanted to include the beauty of Lake Superior and forest in their ceremony.
The daytime crowds had gone from the park, and an intimate group of friends and family gathered under the trees as harp music played. The final piece of the prelude, as family circled together, was Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven.”
The wedding party and brides entered from the beach, over a small hill. It was beautiful with the sunset behind them! For the wedding party processional, I played “Nothing Else Matters” by Metallica. Jama and Brittany came down the aisle together to “Concerning Hobbits” from Lord of the Rings.
I love when couples choose music that is meaningful to them! That might mean a classical piece played at their grandparents’ wedding, a piece they love to dance to, or the theme from their favorite movie. Anything can be “wedding music”!
The ceremony concluded, and I played the Scottish tune “Parting Glass” as the recessional. Postlude music continued as guests enjoyed the scenery and took pictures at the ceremony arch and on the beach.
