The First Presbyterian Church in downtown Springfield (Abraham Lincoln’s Church) hosts a series of Advent concerts each year leading up to Christmas. The lunchtime concerts are free and open to all, and feature local and regional musicians of various genres and instrumentations.

I performed for the first concert of the series, playing some of my favorite Christmas songs and carols. With my background in things like madrigal singing and foreign language studies, some of my favorites are a little obscure!

The program included:
- Silent Night
- Coventry Carol
- Away in a Manger
- Ding Dong Merrily on High
- Joy to the World
- Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming
- Good King Wenceslaus
- The Holly and the Ivy
- God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen
- I Wonder as I Wander
- Gesu Bambino
- Still, Still, Still
Several attendees commented that it was a peaceful and reflective start to the holiday season. Harp music is an excellent way to create a serene atmosphere, no matter the time of year!

I play for concerts, parties, church services, weddings, and other events in Springfield and throughout Central Illinois. If you are looking to hire a harpist for your celebration, please contact me at: Springfield Harpist.
