Immediately following my Wednesday wedding – a Thursday wedding! A weekday ceremony tends to be more intimate with a smaller guest list, such as this celebration at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. I have played at this venue before, but always in one of the gardens. This time, we were on the terrace and in the Tea Room off the Snyder Building.

It was good that we had an easy indoor access, as the rain kept threatening all afternoon! A couple of drops fell and I was able to quickly relocate the harp just inside the doors to keep playing the prelude music. Once the rain stopped, then back outside on the terrace without missing a beat!

Dressed elegantly in black, the wedding party entered to “Canon in D” by Pachelbel, with the couple’s dog serving as ring bearer. The bride wanted to keep her entrance music as a surprise for both her groom and their guests. She walked down the aisle to the theme from Top Gun!

They chose “Hold My Hand” by Lady Gaga (from Top Gun: Maverick) for the unity ritual, and then Bob Marley’s “One Love” for the recessional. Cocktail hour music continued, and included both classical and popular music. Fortunately, the rain held off for the rest of the evening!
I play for weddings in the Twin Cities and throughout Minnesota, providing elegant music for weddings large and small, indoors and out, formal and casual. Harp music is always an excellent choice! Visit my website ~ Minneapolis Wedding Harpist ~ to learn more and request a quote!
