I recently provided wedding harp music for Laura and Zach’s celebration at The Eldalie House in West Plains, Missouri. This private home wedding featured a garden ceremony followed by a tented reception on the lawn, with personalized music selections that reflected the couple’s style and the relaxed beauty of the day.
The weather added an extra element of planning to this outdoor wedding. Thunderstorms moved through the area earlier in the day, so I arrived prepared with my carbon-fiber harp, which is designed for situations where weather conditions may be unpredictable.
Thankfully, the skies cleared in time for the garden ceremony, and I was able to set up in one location beneath the tent for both the ceremony and reception. This allowed the music to continue seamlessly while providing flexibility in case rain returned.
The ceremony music was carefully selected to highlight special moments throughout the day. Zach and the officiant entered to “Concerning Hobbits” from The Lord of the Rings, creating a warm and whimsical opening to the ceremony.
The flower girl’s entrance featured “Once Upon a Dream” from Sleeping Beauty, a meaningful choice because it is her favorite movie. The delicate melody was a beautiful fit for the garden setting and added a sweet personal touch before the bride’s entrance.
For the bride’s processional, I performed “Flower Duet” from the opera Lakmé. The graceful arrangement complemented the natural beauty of the gardens and created an elegant moment as she walked down the aisle.
The ceremony concluded with “Dancing in the Moonlight” by King Harvest as the recessional. The joyful melody brought a relaxed and celebratory energy as the newly married couple and their guests transitioned into the reception.

After the ceremony, guests gathered in the reception tent on the lawn for an afternoon celebration. Live harp music continued throughout the luncheon with a mix of light classical selections and popular songs from the 1970s through the 2000s.
The personalized repertoire created a welcoming atmosphere while guests enjoyed dinner, conversation, and time together. Familiar favorites combined with elegant harp arrangements made the music feel approachable, festive, and perfectly suited to the garden setting.
