This was a very special event, and I was honored to be asked to take part in it. The West Side Christian Church in Springfield has a widows and widowers luncheon during the Christmas season, and this year, they were treated to harp music!
Once the guests were all gathered, I presented a program of about 45 minutes of classical music associated with Christmas (“Canon in D,” “Winter” from The Four Seasons, “Angelus”) and traditional carols – some of which inspired a few people to sing along!
The music of the harp soothing and the perfect way to relax during what is typically a busy time of year. As I played, you could feel the tension leave the room as the guests relaxed and enjoyed just being present with the music.
