One harp at a wedding is beautiful, but two harps at a wedding are spectacular!  There is definitely a visual and auditory “wow” factor with the harp, and even more so when there is more than one!
Katerina chose a harp duet to play for her cocktail hour at the Westin River North in downtown Chicago. Â We played for the first two hours of the reception, as guests enjoyed drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and the beautiful sights along the Chicago River.
The bride’s music requests included a few classical selections, but were mostly from the pop and rock genres – with lots of Disney and movie songs!  Among others, we played:
- A Time for Us from Romeo and Juliet
- Can’t Help Falling in Love
- Eyes on Me from Final Fantasy VIII
- Marry You by Bruno Mars
- Nothing Else Matters by Metallica
- A Thousand Years from Twilight
Quite the playlist – and not things you expect to hear on the harp! Â Guests definitely loved the selections we played, as well as the surprise of hearing contemporary music on classic instruments.
I work with many other professional musicians, and can provide several instrument groupings for weddings and parties.  Along with this lovely two-harp duet, you can also book a harp & violin, harp & flute, harp & cello, harp & piano, harp & vocalist, or harp & steel drums duo.  Trios, quartets, and larger ensembles are also available.
For more information on having a harpist or ensemble for your event, please visit my website ~ Chicago Wedding Harpist. Â We can work together to determine what group of musicians is best for the type of music you’d like to have played!
