Accra Wedding Harpist

Accra Wedding Harpist

Devon Carpenter is a professional harpist providing elegant live music for destination weddings in Ghana and throughout West Africa. The timeless sound of the harp adds sophistication and romance to wedding celebrations, from beachfront ceremonies and luxury hotel events to private estates and cultural celebrations.

Live harp music creates a refined atmosphere for every part of the wedding day. While many of her engagements are wedding ceremonies, Devon also performs elegant background music for cocktail hours and receptions, as well as for corporate gatherings and other celebrations. Featured performances for concerts, festivals, and cultural events are also available.

For weddings in Ghana and across West Africa, Devon can incorporate both Western repertoire and music that reflects the cultural traditions of the region. From classical wedding favorites and contemporary love songs to melodies inspired by regional traditions, the harp’s versatility allows couples to design a musical program that feels both elegant and personal.

The harp also shares a fascinating musical connection with the kora, one of West Africa’s most celebrated traditional instruments. Like the harp, the kora produces a flowing, resonant sound created by plucked strings, and both instruments are known for their lyrical melodies and storytelling traditions. Because of this similarity, harp music blends beautifully with West African musical aesthetics and can complement celebrations that honor both international and regional cultural influences.

“We just wanted to let you know how much we appreciated your music for the wedding.  There is just nothing that could compare to the sound of a harp in that gorgeous setting, and more importantly, we are so thankful for your professionalism and talent!  My husband doesn’t even have an inch of musical awareness in his body, and he on several occasions brought your name up and commented on how wonderful you played and presented yourself.  God bless you!”
