Jenna and Joshua had a beautiful summer day for their August wedding at the Glass Haus outside of Branson. The Sunday afternoon ceremony was held outside on the patio overlooking the lake. Along with solo harp selections, there were a few songs with a guitar-playing vocalist that I accompanied on the harp.
It was a Jewish wedding ceremony, so the bride checked with the groom’s mother for a special song to incorporate to celebrate their heritage. She suggested “Dodi Li,” which I played while she was escorted down the aisle by her son, the groom. She was followed by the mother of the bride, who walked down the aisle to “Because You Loved Me.”
“Canon in D” was the wedding party processional, and then the vocalist and I played “I Choose You” by Sara Bareilles for the bride’s entrance.
The ceremony began with the bride and groom circling one another, with “Edelweiss” from The Sound of Music playing lightly in the background. “Hallelujah” was played during the lighting of the unity candle.
A Jewish wedding traditionally ends with the breaking of the glass, and after they did so, we played & sang “You are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne for the recessional. At that point, the vocalist began cocktail hour music with guitar accompaniment.
