December weddings are always so beautiful! Not only are venues already decorated for the holidays, but everyone is in a celebratory mood. Natalie and Collin hosted their wedding ceremony at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence, Kansas, on the Saturday before Christmas.

For the prelude as guests arrived, they chose a variety of classical music, hymns, and Christmas carols, including “Prelude in C” by J.S. Bach, “Still, Still, Still,” “O Perfect Love,” and “In the Bleak Midwinter.”

To accompany the seating of grandparents and parents, they chose another J.S. Bach piece, “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.” The wedding party and the bride all came down the aisle to Pachelbel’s “Canon in D,” with the more majestic part reserved for the bride’s processional.

They selected another Christmas carol (one of my personal favorites!) for the lighting of the unity candle and presentation of roses to the mothers – “Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming.” For the recessional, everyone exited the church to Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy.”

I continued with uptempo classical and Christmas music for the postlude, incorporating the couple’s requests of “The Holly and the Ivy,” “In Dulci Jubilo,” “The First Noel,” and “Once in Royal David’s City.”
