Springfield IL Wedding Ceremony Music

Wedding music can be anything YOU want it to be!  Maybe that means following tradition and having the familiar classics play as you and your wedding party walk down the aisle.  Or maybe it means songs that honor your families’ ethnic heritages.  Or maybe it’s something completely unexpected!

Wedding Ceremony Music Springfield

Elizabeth and Scott went with the last option.  Their wedding music choices were uniquely them, even if not traditional!  As guests arrived at Springfield’s Venue 1929, I played various contemporary love songs for the prelude.

Family seating was to “Harvest Moon” by Neil Young, and the wedding party processional was “Cherry Wine” by Hozier.  For the bride’s processional, she chose “Dreams” by the Irish rock band The Cranberries.  For this special request, I created a custom harp arrangement of the song!

The grandmother of the bride officiated the ceremony, and it all concluded with the recessional “This Must be the Place” by the Talking Heads.  This one has become a recent favorite for the exit music!  Postlude music continued until all of the guests had exited and were on their way to the reception.

Whether you prefer traditional or contemporary music – or you aren’t sure yet and want to keep your options open! – I would love to create the musical backdrop for your wedding!  I play for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, and reception in Springfield and throughout Central Illinois.  You can find out more and request a quote at my website:  Springfield IL Wedding Harpist.
