Senta and Garry were married on Sunday, December 16th, in a ceremony absolutely filled with love and laughter! They exchanged vows in the Arbor Room of the Thornhill Education Center at Lisle’s Morton Arboretum.
Such a beautiful venue deserves amazing music, and they had it with not only the harp, but with a trio including harp, violin, and cello. We played classical music as guests arrived, and Shania Twain’s “From This Moment On” for the seating of the mothers.
The bridal party (10 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, and a ring bearer) entered to “Marry Me” by Train. This song has quickly become a wedding classic! Senta chose “Canon in D” for her processional.
During the ceremony, a bridesmaid and groomsman sang “Only God Could Love You More” as the couple lit the unity candle. A highlight of the ceremony was when the officiant gave the couple advice from their parents ~ between the two couples, there was over 70 years of marriage!
The recessional at the conclusion of the ceremony was Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March,” which we followed with “Bella’s Lullaby” from the movie Twilight. The trio continued playing until all of the guests had exited, and sent the bride and groom on their way in a tunnel of bubbles.
As a solo harpist, or with an ensemble, I love to provide music for wedding ceremonies and receptions throughout the greater Chicago area. You’ll find more information about having harp music at your wedding on my website: Chicago Wedding Harpist. Happy planning!
