July started with a wedding reception (cocktails and dinner) at the Decatur Conference Center and Hotel. Kathleen and Kyle were married in the afternoon at the Catholic church, with their reception following in the evening. Temperatures nearly hit 100 degrees, and everyone was glad the entire celebration was indoors!
The room was decorated in gold, pink, and navy blue, and I was playing as the doors were opened for guests to enter. Kathleen simply asked for some classical, popular, and traditional wedding music, but left the specific selections up to me.
Some of the pieces I played included:
- All of Me by John Legend
- As Time Goes By from Casablanca
- Can You Feel the Love Tonight from The Lion King
- Have I Told You Lately that I Love You by Van Morrison
- A Thousand Years from Twilight: Breaking Dawn
- Marry You by Bruno Mars
- Prelude in C by J.S. Bach
A little something for guests of all ages! You can have as much (or as little!) control over the playlist for your wedding as you would like. Some couples have a list of songs that are meaningful for them that they want included; others are looking for the elegant ambiance the harp provides and want me to make the choices to best showcase the instrument. Either way is fine with me!

And one extra-special touch from this wedding – a way to honor their furry family members and do some good for their community, too!
