Like many of my 2020 couples, Amanda and Bill were married last year, then waited to have a full celebration with family and friends until 2021. It was like a 1st anniversary party and wedding rolled into one, on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend at The Farmhouse in Plainfield.
The weather was perfect for the outdoor ceremony, held in the gardens with a stone fireplace as the backdrop. As guests arrived and were seated in the courtyard, I played a variety of romantic love songs and a few classical pieces. The wedding party – including the two mothers as flower girls! – entered to “Tale as Old as Time” from Beauty and the Beast.
Amanda walked down the aisle to “A Thousand Years” from Twilight: Breaking Dawn. Their recessional was “Married Life” from the Disney movie Up, and I followed that with more uptempo popular pieces.
