It was an overcast fall day for Leslie and Justin’s wedding, but fortunately we were able to go ahead with the outdoor riverside ceremony as planned! I had my carbon fibre harp tucked away nearby just in case rain started to fall and the pedal harp needed to be covered to protect it. With the water- and temperature-proof harp with me for all outdoor weddings, you can be sure the music for your ceremony will continue, even if the weather changes!
As guests walked down the stairs from the bluff, I played a mix of contemporary love songs and light classics for the prelude. Once I had the signal that everyone was ready to begin, I played “Prelude in C” by JS Bach for the seating of family members.
The wedding party processed to “Canon in D,” followed by the bride to “A Thousand Years” from Twilight: Breaking Dawn. During the unity ritual, they chose “Eyes on Me” from Final Fantasy VIII to be played lightly in the background.
Their recessional to return back down the aisle and up to the reception at Tennessee River Place was the traditional Mendelssohn “Wedding March.” They opted for a nice variety of familiar wedding music alongside popular favorites that held meaning for them as a couple. I love how my couples personalize their song selections!
