To complete a three-weekend wedding, I headed to Starlight, Indiana for Adrienne & Joshua’s ceremony at Huber’s Plantation Hall. After two cold & rainy days, they were lucky to have clear blue skies and 75-degree temperatures for their outdoor ceremony!
The orchard and winery were very busy that day, thanks to the beautiful weather and lovely location. Fortunately, the ceremony space was away from the crowds, and overlooked an orchard. The chuppah was placed underneath the pergola, and provided a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony. The reception DJ was impressed that you could hear the harp music all the way at the end of the parking lot – the sound does carry very well!
Knowing that the bride and groom are big fans of Final Fantasy, I was sure to include several songs from the video games (along with classical pieces and traditional Jewish music) in their prelude music as guests arrived. When their rabbi entered, I transitioned to the Italian song “Andiam, mio tesoro” as the groom’s mother came down the aisle.
The bridesmaids and flower girls entered to Pachelbel’s “Canon in D,” and Adrienne chose the traditional Jewish song “Hana-ava Babanot” for her processional. To conclude a Jewish wedding ceremony, the groom breaks a glass with his right foot. As soon as Joshua did this, I began “Od Yishama” for their recessional.
As a professional wedding harpist, I am well-versed in the ceremonies of all religious traditions. I am available throughout Indiana and Kentucky (and beyond!) to provide music for wedding ceremonies, receptions, and rehearsal dinners, and you can find more information on my website: {Jeffersonville Indiana Harpist}.
