Few venues are as breathtaking as Anthony Chapel, tucked within the natural beauty of Garvan Woodland Gardens. With its soaring glass walls, warm wood architecture, and serene forest surroundings, it creates an unforgettable setting for a wedding ceremony, and an equally magical space for live music.
I’ve had the pleasure of performing at Anthony Chapel many times, and each wedding there feels completely unique. This recent ceremony was a perfect example of how personalized music can elevate every moment of the day.
Prelude Harp Music in a Woodland Setting
As guests arrived and took their seats, I performed a harp prelude that blended beautifully with the peaceful atmosphere of the gardens. The couple selected a mix of meaningful, romantic songs that felt both timeless and personal:
• Can’t Help Falling in Love
• A Groovy Kind of Love
• Forever After All
Harp music carries effortlessly through the chapel without overwhelming the space, making it ideal for creating a calm, welcoming ambiance as guests gather.
A Seamless Transition: Harp to Piano
One of the unique aspects of this ceremony was the transition from harp to piano. After the prelude, I moved to the chapel’s Steinway piano to accompany the most important moments of the ceremony.
This kind of transition allows for a dynamic musical experience while maintaining a cohesive, elegant sound throughout.
Bride’s Processional: Bless the Broken Road
For the bride’s entrance, I performed “Bless the Broken Road” on piano, a heartfelt and emotional choice that perfectly matched the moment. The richness of the piano added depth and warmth as she walked down the aisle, framed by the natural light and towering trees outside the glass walls.
Joyful Recessional: Ain’t No Mountain High Enough
As the ceremony concluded, the energy shifted to celebration with “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” on piano for the recessional. It was a joyful, upbeat sendoff that had guests smiling as the couple made their way back up the aisle as newlyweds.
Why Live Music Works So Well at Anthony Chapel
Anthony Chapel is one of those rare venues where live music truly transforms the experience. The acoustics, architecture, and natural surroundings all work together to enhance both harp and piano, allowing each piece to feel immersive and meaningful.
Whether couples choose classical, pop, or custom arrangements, live music here feels intentional, elevated, and completely personal.
