Kansas City Harpist – Harp & Violin Duet at La Villa

Kansas City Harpist

This April wedding took place at La Villa in Kansas City, and had not only harp, but a harp and violin duet for the ceremony!

Although many of my weddings are solo harp, I often perform with other professional musicians, creating the perfect sound for each event!  You can have anything from a classical harp & flute to a jazz harp & piano to a calypso harp & steel pans duet!

Callie and Jacob had a beautiful spring day for their wedding, but with April always being unpredictable, they had their ceremony indoors.  The weather was perfect for lots of outdoor pictures though!

As guests arrived, we played harp and violin duets of several popular songs and jazz standards, including “La Vie en Rose,” “Hey Jude,” “At Last,” and “Harvest Moon.”

The families of the couple were seated to “Falling Slowly” from Once and the wedding party processional was “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”  Callie came down the aisle to our own arrangement of Lana del Rey’s “Video Games,” that we created specifically for this wedding.  If there is a song you’d like that isn’t already in my repertoire, I can usually accommodate – and you’ll have a version of the song that no one else has!

“Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles was the recessional that sent everyone outdoors following the ceremony.  We continued playing postlude music (including “Stand by Me” and “Have I Told You Lately that I Love You”) until all of the guests had exited.

Either as a soloist or with an ensemble of your choosing, I would love to add music to your wedding day!  You can contact me via my website ~ Kansas City Wedding Harpist ~ to learn more and check availability.
