Mackinaw Valley Vineyard Wedding – Peoria Harpist

Harpist in Central IL

This ended up being my first outdoor wedding of the year!  After a rainout the weekend before, this May Saturday felt almost hot.  Both the ceremony and reception were held at Mackinaw Valley Vineyard, located midway between Peoria and Bloomington-Normal.

For the prelude, Jamie and Nick chose popular songs, including “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “Hallelujah,” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.”

The music for family seating and the wedding party processional was “Love Me Tender” by Elvis, and the bride walked down the aisle to another wedding classic, “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the recessional was “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love),” after which I played more contemporary and upbeat songs, including the couple’s requests of “Dancing Queen” and “Here Comes the Sun.”

With the reception just across the lawn at the pavilion, it was an easy transition from the ceremony to the party.  With the beautiful weather, guests could also take advantage of the winery’s grounds for strolling and pictures.
